                                  TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS
          These are some of the questions I ask my clients before I set up an appointment

1. Have you tried re-starting the computer?
    It's surprising how many times this cures the problem!  
2. Are all the cables connected?
    USB cables are especially prone to being pulled loose because they don't have any sort of   
    "latch" to hold them in place.

3. Did you add anything new (hardware or software)?
    If so, did you try uninstalling or disconnecting it to see if the problem went away?
4. Are you protected with antivirus and antispyware programs and are they up-to-date?
    Many people aren't aware that the protection that came with their new computer will expire.
5. Did you try System Restore (to take the computer back to a date when it worked)?
    Windows Me, XP, and Vista all have it!
6. Have you deleted any files recently?
    Sometimes folks get a little too enthusiastic with disk clean-up and housekeeping.
